SECONDARY DROP AND GO

The Secondary Drop and Go is a hive of activity in the afternoon and parents seem to be settling into a routine that minimises the rush at 3:15pm when the bell goes.

Please be aware that the area directly in front of the school on Wishart Road (school side) is a Council designated bus zone and that penalties can apply for stopping or parking in a bus zone.  The local police often patrol the school speed zone out the front of the College. We welcome this in terms of helping to ensure the safety of our students and community.

Initially (particularly last week), a number of cars were stopped and lined up in the bus zone waiting to enter the Drop and Go. To alleviate this problem, a couple of suggestions are:
  • Encourage your son/daughter to come quickly to your car once school is dismissed. This will speed up the flow of traffic through the Drop and Go. Teenagers can tend to like to chat for a while instead of getting to the car!
  • Consider arriving just a couple of minutes later once the 'rush' is over.
  • If there is a queue beyond the entrance, please don't run the risk of getting a fine and compromising safety by stopping in the bus zone.  Instead, continue on and return in a few minutes.

A few parents are also picking students up on the opposite side of Wishart Road to the College.  In the interest of safety, we strongly recommend that students do not cross Wishart Road, particularly at this very busy time.

Thought for week..."I love you, Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. Psalm 18:1-2
