Deputy Principal, Secondary
Bachelor of Education (Mathematics)
I have more than 25 years of teaching experience, commencing my professional career as a Mathematics and Chemistry teacher. In 2008 I was appointed Deputy Principal at Brisbane Adventist College.
Throughout my teaching career, it has been my passion to see students being challenged, supported to succeed in those challenges, and to experience the satisfaction and joy of the learning process – not just the outcome.
Learning often involves some form of 'failure', but the belief that we are created individuals by a loving God who yearns for a relationship with us, means that temporary success or failure is no indicator of a person’s value. Whether it be through spiritual programs, academic classes, performing arts, service opportunities, sport, outdoor adventure or restorative practice behaviour education, growing students with integrity to be joy-filled, respectful contributors to their community is a tremendous privilege and responsibility.
